Star Wars Battlefront 2 Gets Release Date And Trailer

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released on November 17th, as revealed at Star Wars Celebration.

The game will feature “all era’s of Star Wars canon” unlike the previous title which was only able to draw from the original trilogy.

The game is also going to feature a story campaign which takes place during the events of Return Of The Jedi. The main character is named Iden Versio, and her homeworld will be one of the new worlds we discover in the game. Also connected to the story is the new Inferno Squad Novel that was announced just recently.

The story involves Iden being an Imperial soldier that watches the 2nd Death Star get destroyed by Rebels, which is why she vows to wipe them out. This will be an interesting twist for players since most of us are used to cheering, and playing, the Rebellion. The game focuses on the Inferno Squad as a whole, again tied to the upcoming book, which will explore different aspects of the several characters. The story is expected to go from Return of the Jedi all the way to The Force Awakens which is a rather large expansion from the original game.

The expansion also includes the multiplayer which will include characters from all era’s in the universe. This means older characters will face newer characters.Currently the list includes Darth Maul, Yoda, Kylo Ren, Rey, and Luke Skywalker.

Also changed is basically everything else in the game. Criterion was brought in to help fix the flying mechanics, but we will also have a bigger variation of vehicles and animals to choose from. The game is also introducing classes for all characters and vehicles, similar to Battlefield. Also similar is the ability to unlock powerups via in-game goals, instead of simply picking them up on the battlefield like the previous title. All players will start as a “traditional trooper,” but we see more variation in other types of characters to choose from including resistance fighters, Imperial officers, First Order stormtroopers, and battle droids.

We can expect to hear more leading up to E3 so stick around as we get all the latest news to you. Star Wars Celebration also continues through the weekend!
