For the longest time, farming games like Harvest Moon and (especially) Rune Factory have been one of my all time favorite game genres. I know they seeming boring and monotonous, but damn I can’t help but get lost in them. Stardew Valley has long been on my radar with it’s plethora of things to do within the game beyond farming, but PC gaming is tough for me, and most of my time is spent on consoles.
As such, I along with many others, have been waiting patiently for the game to land on consoles. If you’re on the PS4, you’ll be able to play the game on December 13th, while Xbox One owners will get it the very next day (the 13th). If you were waiting on the Wii U version…well, keep waiting. The developers announced they’ve decided to delay the game on Nintendo until the SWITCH launches next year. A bummer to be sure, but an understandable one:
Stardew Valley will not be coming to the Wii U, however. Looking at Wii U and the current gaming landscape, we made the difficult choice to shift our development efforts to creating a version for Nintendo Switch. I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley. I do want to emphasize that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.
Will you be playing Stardew Valley next month?
