That is, in its ultimate form.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is delivering every playable character in the series onto one roster.
This includes characters that were not playable in 4 like Ice Climbers, Pokemon Trainer, and Solid Snake and announcements on some new playable characters: Ridley and Inkling.
In Nintendo’s E3 presentation, Masahiro Sakurai, the game’s director, goes over a comprehensive list of changes and tweaks to characters, including new forms and skins, as well as new levels added to pay homage to some of the Switch’s major titles. Gamecube controllers and amiibos were also confirmed to be compatible with Smash Ultimate.
Sakurai also explained the concept of “echo fighters,” that include characters like Dark Pit or Lucina that shares a very similar move-set with an existing character, before going on to introduce that a new echo fighter joining the Smash arena is Daisy, who will share a near identical move-set with Peach.
Conference goers will be getting a chance to play the game later today, so I’m sure first impressions are soon to come.
Who would you like to see added to the game? Do you think we’ll see any more additions to this already ginormous roster?
