According to an interview with Mashable, Telltale is planning on releasing season 3 sometime this year. The news is that we can expect to hear official details around this years San Diego Comic Con, which takes place July 21 through 24.
Telltale usually has a big presence at the show, but we might get some early details at E3 in June as well. While this is the 3rd season in the core series, Telltale also released a side series following the character Michonne.
Also rather neat is the fact that season 2 had multiple ways to end and Telltale is addressing the endings in order to continue them in season 3.
“The way that we’re dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view,” Bruner told Mashable.
While that is great, Bruner also noted that players that are new to the series will have no problem jumping in and gaining an interest in the story. However the endings of season 2 for sure play a part for people that played previous seasons.
Also coming this year is Telltales Batman series.
