(UPDATE: The Oculus Rift price has been announced at $599. It includes a headset, sensor, Oculus Remote, cables, Xbox One Controller, EVE: Valkyrie, and Lucky’s Tale.
*Expected Ship Date: April 2016.)
F-R-E-E that’s the price of pre-ordering the new Oculus Rift technology. Think of the pre-order system as just simply waiting in line. You may be wondering why they would do that. Well the creator of Oculus, Lucky Palmer, went to twitter to explain why the price for pre-order is non-existant.
“We won’t lock people into preorders months before reviews come out using our awesome preorder bonuses. We have confidence in our product!”
They should have confidence in their product, their product is revolutionary. We had a chance to preview it at E3 and it was one of the coolest video game experiences of my entire life.
However, the pre-order does mask the fact that we have yet to know what the overall price of the Rift will be. There are tons of different speculations as to why they haven’t revealed the price. From it being too expensive to keeping it a mystery for promotional sake.
Although, with the pre-order becoming available now, they won’t be able to keep it a secret much longer. No doubt, this question will be brought up several times during their Reddit AMA tonight at 6pm ET.
You can pre-order you Oculus Rift by going here! Don’t forget, each Oculus Rift includes the games Eve: Valkyrie (my personal favorite) and Lucky’s Tale.
Hurry up and get in line quick!
Will you be pre-order the Oculus Rift?
