The PlayStation 5 Console is Finally Here

At long last Sony has finally revealed the PlayStation 5 console.

At the end of what was a stellar hour-long showcase of games coming to PS5, Sony took a moment to give their next generation console a proper reveal of the hardware. It was unexpected, as this was billed as a games showcase, but what was even more unexpected was the reveal of two versions of the console and a whole bunch of other accessories.

The PlayStation 5 will release in two versions, a Standard Edition with a disk drive and Digital Edition-sans disk drive. Each console will release with a DualSense controller. The trailer also revealed a DualSense Charging Station, HD Camera, Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, and a Media Remote. It’s likely all of these accessories will be separate purchases.

This was purely a hardware reveal. No other details were shared, specifically price and a firm release date. It’ll be interesting to see if there is a price difference between the Standard and Digital Editions and if they’ll both release at the same time. We’ll keep an eye out for any new information on the PS5 and update you as it revealed.

The PlayStation 5 will release Holiday 2020.
