‘Trials of Mana’ Remake Gets April 2020 Release Date

The third installment of the beloved Mana series, Trials of Mana, has a remake on the way! After today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, we now know that it’s set to release next April. More within…

Back in June, at E3 2019, Square Enix made it public that a Trials of Mana remake was in the works for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and STEAM. As what a lot developers and publishers do during video game’s biggest time of the year, they were coy on when it would release.

That changes today. Using the Nintendo Direct presentation as a platform, Square Enix announced that Trials of Mana will release on April 24, 2020. They also released a new trailer to commemorate the announcement. It also happens to be the one shown at TGS 2019.

Originally released in Japan as Seiken Densetsu 3 in 1995, and later making its debut in the West with the Collection of Mana™ on Nintendo Switch earlier this year, Trials of Mana is a full, high-definition remake of the third entry in the classic Mana series, seamlessly bringing the beloved story and characters to a new, modern era of fans with real-time combat, beautiful 3D graphics and updated gameplay. The game tells the story of six heroes as they battle against the forces of evil that threaten a world where Mana has been weakened. Players will craft their own experiences by selecting a party of three from these unique characters as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime to protect the very essence of Mana itself.

If you pre-order the game or purchase Trials of Mana before May 21, 2020, Switch and PS4 owners will receive a Rabite Adornment DLC, which boosts experience points up to level 10. STEAM owners who do the same will receive the same DLC and a Wallpaper Set. Finally, PS4 owners that pre-order Trials of Mana will also receive an exclusive avatar set of the 6 characters.

Trials of Mana releases on April 24, 2020 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and STEAM.
