The Marvel Experience Thrills Comic Book and Super Hero Fans

The Marvel Experience brings the comic book world to life through several domes offering each person a different adventure as they roam through it. One dome is made up of little training centers where adults and children alike can prepare to do battle with Hydra and its leader, Red Skull. There are wall-climbing stations where you crawl up a building with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Displays of different props like Captain America’s shield, Loki’s staff, and Falcon’s wing are enclosed in glass displays for everyone to gawk at. Eventgoers can also interact with the Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Nick Fury through the magic of 3D technology.

Another dome offers audiences an immersive 3D experience that puts them in the middle of a cataclysmic battle between the Avengers and Hydra. Characters like Wolverine, Red Skull, Spider-Man and many more race around above you in a dome similar to a true IMAX theater. The entire time you spin around in circles trying to keep all the action in sight.

A flight simulation dome puts the viewer on the flight deck of the Helicarrier as our Marvel heroes defend the world from an attack by a giant Red Skull and his deadly army. It’s basically a 4D ride without the 3D aspect. As the carrier swoops around blowing stuff up, the theater seats bounce around and move back and forth in reaction to what’s happening onscreen.

You’ll want to come prepared with your debit card, as the last dome you’re brought into is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Shop. I would imagine the most popular item is the Marvel Experience t-shirts since they’re no doubt exclusive to the traveling event. Just to give you an idea of what you’ll need to plan for, t-shirts run $25. The rest of the items you can purchase are green-screen pictures with your favorite super heroes, cups, toys, action figures, comics, and anything else you can possibly think of that a Marvel logo or character can be put on.

One thing which needs to be made very clear is that the Marvel Experience is not directly tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you’re expecting to go and see Robert Downey Jr., Samuel Jackson, and Scarlett Johansson’s likenesses everywhere, you’ll be gravely disappointed. The comic books and the character designs for those are the main focus of this event.

The Marvel Experience is a well-organized event centered on a story that gives attendees an interactive adventure with a beginning, middle, and end. It’s more geared for children with all the different activities and training modules, but adults will enjoy the 3D and motion rides as well as the prop displays. True Marvel fanatics won’t want to miss this when it hits their city.
