I was very hyped for ReCore upon its initial reveal, but after seeing some early reviews and word that it was dropped to 40 bucks because of shortcomings, I tempered my expectations.  What I discovered however, is that ReCore is a decent game, especially for the price.  Come inside to watch my full review!

In Recore you play as Joule Adams, an engineer sent to the planet Far Eden to help prepare it for eventual human occupation. Unfortunately (as it always happens) the robots sent to assist the engineers went crazy and decided killing all humans would be better. I mean who doesn’t though. Joule’s job is to get the machinery running again to get the planet terraformed, finding out what happened, and stop those machines.  Armed with your trusty rifle, exo suit, and corebots this shouldn’t be that hard right?

Difficulty wise the game has a fair amount of it with you have to combat the bots all the while staying mobile and using the correct core bots for the situation. Upgrading the bots is a lot of fun and finding blueprints and parts is very satisfying. The game does have some issues where environment and enemies will clip out and that always bothers me. Also the auto aim at times can make things real easy. Also load times are exceptionally long and there’s no real excuse at this age in gaming. I do like the game though and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I see a lot of replay value in going back to explore all the dungeons and upgrade my bots.  At this price point the game is very worth picking up.
