THE BOTTOM LINE: ‘First Cow’ is an original, and often exquisite, cinematic experience
Who knew that a movie about stealing milk could be such an emotional viewing experience? First Cow is unusual, to be sure, and the slower pacing and abrupt ending may not be to everyone’s liking. There’s no denying, however, that director Kelly Reichardt has crafted a truly special film unlike any other you’ll see this year. The blu-ray’s technical presentation is good but not great, and a lack of bonus features hurts.
