I'll be the first to admit my pessimistic attitude when it was announced a few months back that Dallas Comic-Con was sold to FanExpo out of Canada. I felt as if my hometown event was being invaded upon and diluted. How could a company out of Canada know what us hard-to-please folks in Texas really want? There was no doubt in anyone's minds at the close of the 2014 Dallas Sci-Fi Expo that the event had more than outgrown the Irving Convention Center. Over 12,000 attendees roamed the halls of the venue February 8th through the 9th in anticipation of seeing or meeting their favorite comic book, TV, or movie celebrity. Many of them were decked out in costumes reflecting different characters and super heroes they loved.
It's May in Dallas, TX and for thousands of movie, TV, and comic book geeks that means only one thing. Dallas Comic-Con is about to descend upon the Irving Convention Center for a weekend of fun and excitement. This time around, fans get three days to meet the celebrities in attendance and find those rare items they've been looking for their entire life from over 30 vendors in the Main Exhibit Room.
