The idea of the Joker having offspring is a concept which could definitely carry a long story-arc in any of the several Bat-books. DC Comics explores the notion with a one-shot entitled Batman: Joker's Daughter. They don't do the obvious and have the girl be the direct progeny of the Joker and Harley Quinn. Interestingly, they go down a whole other route which has some readers happy and others furious.
In 1975, the Joker became the first Batman villain to be awarded his very own title. Throughout each issue, the Clown Prince of Crime went up against a super hero or another megalomaniacal criminal before his corrupt plans were foiled and he was sent back to prison or left for dead. DC Comics has done fans the great service of finally releasing the nine issue series that ran from 1975 to 1976 in one collection.
DC Comics releases what is sure to become a top pick for many "Best of" lists when it comes to Batman graphic novels years down the road. The Joker: Death of the Family sees the Clown Prince of Crime moving way past his typical violent shenanigans and taking his frenzied insanity to a whole other level. It's a story that can only be told from the pages of multiple Bat-family books across more than one issue in most, if not all, cases.
