Despite many theories and heavy hints in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the first villain the newly-formed Justice League will fight won't be Darkseid. Instead, it's a lesser-known character and one that was left on the cutting room floor of BvS.
DC Comics is pulling some interesting characters out of the past for their second wave of the New 52 relaunch. The first few books long-time fans might recognize by name are G.I. Combat, Dial H, and World's Finest. Now we get a four part mini-series which hardcore enthusiasts will be familiar with. October sees the release of Phantom Lady and Doll Man. Both characters were created by Will Eisner with Jerry Iger assisting on Phantom Lady.
Let me start off by stating the obvious to many of my regular readers. I absolutely love DC Comics. They never fail to do anything they can to meet my petty undeserving demands as a reviewer of their monthly comics and graphic novels. I sit here right now contemplating how I can review all 46 #0 issues they sent me.
12 issues of a DC Comics title can mean only one thing: the anticipated annual. Superman Annual #1delivers two times the action and drama we get on a monthly basis from the Man of Steel. It's an exceptional sci-fi laced one-shot that leaves questions unanswered and plenty of opportunity for future encounters with the villain of the story.
