Fans of pixel art, mid-90s survival classics, and modern story-driven games will want to check out The Road of Dust and Sorrow, which recently premiered a new trailer at the Future Games Showcase. The trailer included a major announcement from Silver Lining Interactive and Painted Black Games for the highly anticipated indie game, which will release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside the Steam release slated for 2026.
The Road of Dust and Sorrow is a pixel-art, narrative-driven horror game that follows Katherine and her daughter Ava as they roam what’s left of civilization. A cure for famine became humanity’s downfall, turning humans into horrific creatures called Dusters. The Dusters aren’t the scariest thing out there, as the mother-daughter duo has caught the unwanted attention of a preacher and his cult.
