This might be the best way to get me back into Fortnite.
It’s been a while since I played fortnite, the ever popular building and extraction shooter, that apparently has modes that don’t require building anymore. I mean it has added a lot more features since I left the chaos, and some of those things are really cool licensing deals with various brands. You have Simpsons, Kim K, and now Bleach is coming soon.
Yep, the Fortnite channels released a short teaser trailer showcasing some nods to several Bleach characters, including Ichigo’s zanpakuto. There are a couple other characters that Bleach fans will capture instantly, but it is a bit mysterious for anyone that isnt exactly a fan.
For those wondering, the characters are Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryuu Ishida, and Orihime Inoue. We can confirm this because Japan is once again cooler than the rest of the world by having various advertisements for the cross over event plastered all over Tokyo
Station.
The teaser trailer set a December 20th release date for these 4 characters. We can assume like all the other content on Fortnite it will behind a paywall as well. If this content does well, it’s very likely future releases will come from Bleach as well. But color me almost sold, I haven’t had Fortnite installed in some time and the idea of Ichigo running around blasting people with a gun seems….oddly fun.
