Donkey Kong Bananza is getting some extra paid content today on Nintendo Switch.
During the Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced that paid DLC is dropping on the Nintendo eShop today for the game. The DLC titled DK Island and Emerald Rush, will come in at just $19.99.
The content includes the DK Island, which is a whole new area to explore filled with inspiration from Donkey Kongs past, to hit that nostalgia feeling. In the middle of the island is a giant statue that you can either climb all over, or smash through.
Along with the new island, the content introduces a new item to collect, Emerald. The base game utilizes Gold, but the island opens up the option to collect Emerald instead. By beating the base game you unlock Emerald, and then you can start a new challenge mode called “Emerald Rush” which has you revisiting other islands and collecting it as fast as possible. There will be several smaller goals to accomplish, and failing to do them in a time allotted manner will reset the clock.
Beating challenges in Emerald Rush will unlock new costumes for your characters, along with statues to decorate your island.
