From also-ran platformer mascot to internet joke character, Bubsy the Cat has had it rough. A new game announcement, Bubsy 4D, has breathed new life into the excitable orange feline, however, and alongside it, a chance for his original adventures to be revisited. Atari and Limited Run games have just launched Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection, a repackaging of the white-shirted wanderer’s entire prior catalogue. This launch coincided with a final trailer, which you can watch on YouTube or right here:
This collection looks to be hitting a lot of the features that are rapidly becoming standard in these types of things – unique border art to fill the space between the game’s proper aspect ratio and the rest of your screen, fun filters and tools like save states and built-in cheat codes. The two things that stand out in particular are the inclusion of every version of the early platformers, and the upgraded take on Bubsy 3D. The latter is especially noteworthy, removing the dreaded “tank controls” in favor of fully analog movement. There are many who believed this much-maligned game would have been more warmly received if it had better controls, so now is the time to find out!
Of course, this is Limited Run Games, so there are physical releases coming soon. Once again, however, this is Limited Run, so be sure to get your pre-order in, because a second order afterwards is unlikely.

Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection is out now digitally on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. There is no official release date for the physical version, but pre-orders are closing on October 12, 2025.
