During Konami’s Press Start presentation, they announced Bloober Team is returning for another Silent Hill remake…the one that started it all!
After the incredible success of Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake, they’re teaming up with Konami once again to offer a fresh take on the game that started it all. The news comes during this morning’s Press Start broadcast, via a quick teaser:
Soooo, not a whole lot of information to go on, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Technically speaking, this isn’t the first time the original game has been “reimagined.” There was 2009’s Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, which was…okay. It changed up a whole bunch of things and added in new characters, but didn’t move the needle a whole lot with fans. As such, Bloober has the chance to freshen up this story for a whole new generation to enjoy.
The original Silent Hill puts the focus on Harry Mason as he searches for his lost adopted daughter in the town of Silent Hill. He stumbles upon an evil cult, nefarious forces, and a whole lot of creepy as monsters. You know, standard stuff.
No details yet on release timing, but they’ve revealed back in February there were working together again, so they’ve been working on it for a little bit. Even if we’re waiting for a bit, horror fans still have Silent Hill f to look forward to on September 25th.
