Bring the Digital World With You on Switch 2 With Digimon Story Time Stranger

All those contrarian kids who always claimed that Digimon was better anyway are getting their vindication with the wildly successful release of Digimon Story Time Stranger, and soon, they will be able to spread their gospel on the go, as Namco Bandai revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct showcase. This summer, Digimon Story Time Stranger will receive a Switch and Switch 2 release as well, joining its console brethren and the PC in hosting this expansive monster-collecting RPG. This announcement, as might be expected from its existence in a Nintendo Direct, also came with a trailer, which you can watch here:

For those who aren’t familiar, the Digimon Story games are among the flagship titles in the gaming portion of the franchise, diving deep into the idea of two worlds, one physical and one digital, and the connections made between those who live in either. These are always story heavy RPGs, and Time Stranger is no exception, as the trailer reveals.

Namco Bandai is opening pre-orders for the game now, including some bonuses in the form of extra costumes, items, and a couple of new Digimon to start. There are also, as always, additional editions to purchase, the Digital Deluxe and Digital Ultimate, for even more extra goodies.

Digimon Story Time Stranger is scheduled to make its Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 debut on July 10, 2026.
