We’re all pretty big fans of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 here, having given it one of our higher review scores of late. It seems like we are most certainly not alone in our opinions, as this surprise hit from the tiny team at Sandfall Interactive has just passed over 5 million copies sold. For a small new team pitching an entirely new IP in a genre largely dominated by Japanese developers, that’s a wildly impressive number of sales, and Sandfall and publisher Kepler Interactive are right to be proud of their work.
Far from content with just having pride, however, the gang at Sandfall are preparing a thanks to the player base in the form of a brand new update!

According to a release from Kepler, the update will be a “major” one, including fixes and expanded localizations to increase the total number of supported languages to 19, as well as additional in-game adventures as well. Kepler promises a “new, playable environment” in a “brand-new location with new enemy encounters,” extra boss battles for late-game challenges, added costumes, and of course, the ever-present “even more” to cover any last minute surprises that may find their way inside.
Though the announcement was not coupled with a projected release date or even an estimation, it’s almost always a good thing to get more game added to your game at no extra cost, so we’ll let Sandfall cook on this one for a while. We’ve still got some optional bosses we need to take down anyway!
