Nintendo capped off their Direct showcase by revealing a brand new game in the Fire Emblem series: Fortune’s Weave.
If you heard any screaming going on earlier, that was just me hooting and hollering about getting a new Fire Emblem game. After an already packed showcase, Nintendo’s final announcement was Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. It looks gorgeous.
There’s a whole lot to love here. The concept of everyone dueling it out arena style (like some sort of Hunger Games) is a fun one, and can make for some interesting story elements. But then you throw in some gorgeous looking gameplay and SOTHIS at the end, and my hype is through the roof. Fire Emblem Three Houses was incredible, so seeing this new game be connected to that world directly in some way is great.
The Heroic Games have begun. The newest entry in the Fire Emblem series is set to enter the arena. The debut trailer provided a glimpse of the intertwining story, characters and turn-based tactical RPG gameplay that awaits players when the game launches for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Sadly there’s no firm release date, but hopefully we won’t be waiting all year to get our hands on Fortune’s Weave.
