Ghost of Yōtei Reveals New Trailer & Release Date

Sucker Punch is priming the hype well hard for their newest game, Ghost of Yōtei, by giving us not only a sleek new trailer, but also a release date for this open world Samurai revenge tale. You can check it out on YouTube or, as always, right here:

The trailer goes into greater detail about protagonist Atsu’s quest for vengeance, detailing who will likely be the main bosses that she faces in her journey. It also displays some of the weaponry she will be employing along the way, such as the spear, kusari-gama, and dual-wielded katanas, which look to provide an even more dynamic range of combat than the primarily sword-focused Ghost of Tsushima.

Perhaps even more importantly, the trailer also reveals the game’s release date! We can now look forward to Ghost of Yōtei releasing later this year, as a hard date of October 2, 2025 was displayed at the end of the video.

Ghost of Tsushima was greatly lauded for being a visually and aesthetically stunning open-world adventure with a compelling plotline, and it appears that Ghost of Yōtei is sneaking perfectly in its footsteps. With any luck, we’ll get another trailer with even more information on these masked antagonists and how they fit into the greater plot before launch!

Ghost of Yōtei releases on October 2, 2025 for the Playstation 5.
