Housemarque Studios is no stranger to the Sony Playstation environment, having developed one of its most ambitious launch titles in Returnal. We covered the original reveal trailer for their second title, Saros, during the previous State of Play, but this time around, the studio has provided a frantic five minutes of gameplay to experience in a guided presentation trailer. As can be expected, it appears that Housemarque has decided not to stray far from their wheelhouse, with gameplay that rings closely to what was previously presented with Returnal. This trailer, though, as well as the game’s tagline, “Come Back Stronger,” hint at a game based more on the idea of providing a power fantasy than the survival horror/psychological thriller that was the last game.
Then again, with the sort of hellish, eldritch aesthetics they’ve been drenching all over these trailers, maybe we could be in for a scarier time than we expect!
Saros is scheduled for release sometime in 2026 for the Playstation 5 and Playstation 5 Pro.
