Since its reveal at the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion has eagerly been on the radar for both Marvel fans and side-scrolling beat ’em up fans alike. Developed by Dotemu and Tribute Games, the Montreal-based team that brought us the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, fans have already expected great things from this title.
During today’s Summer Game Fest presentation, Dotemu provided us with even more footage of this anticipated title, revealing two more of the fifteen playable characters that have been promised to us: She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon! This trailer not only shows off She-Hulk’s heavy hits and and Rocket’s assorted arsenal, but also a quick peek at a couple of classic Marvel villains joining Annihilus in his wretched quest: the legendary Thanos and the oft-memed scientist who only ever wanted to turn people into dinosaurs, Sauron!
With nine characters now revealed and six more to go, who will be next? The inclusion of Phyla-Vell fills me with hope that we’ll get at least a couple truly off-the-wall options before the roster is done for good! If not on launch, there’s always hope for DLC.
