The minds who brought you one of last year’s most action-packed, gore-speckled and hotly anticipated shooters, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, is returning home from the Imperium to give us something all new, but just as bloody: John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando! Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have partnered together again to give us the newest look at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live ceremony. Check out their teaser trailer on Youtube or clicking through right here:
On a first glance, some might be thinking this game would make more sense with a “4” in the middle of its title somewhere (My vote would be for Comm4ndo) with its focus on a team blasting massive zombie hordes into giblets. Even so, Saber and Focus are doing a lot to differentiate themselves from the crowd, with character classes, a particular focus on the “buddy cop” action movie vibes and aesthetic, and, perhaps most importantly, a lot of focus on off-road driving mechanics to boot.
Sometimes, all you might want out of a game is something to boot up, sit down with and mindlessly blast some monsters, and Toxic Commando looks to be aiming to fit that bill in spades. We can’t wait to see what new features and creatures will get teased in the months leading up to its release!

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is currently aiming for an early 2026 release, and can currently be wishlisted on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
