Square Enix has released new screenshots from Kingdom Hearts IV, giving a new glimpse at the game.
Given it’s been three long years since Kingdom Hearts IV was announced with no further updates, fans were understandably getting nervous about whether the game would actually happen. Video game fans can be quite patient when they need to be, but at the same time one can only go so long without an update.
Have no fear, Square Enix has delivered.
“To our Kingdom Hearts community,” a post on the official Kingdom Hearts Instagram account says. “We’re currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game’s development. We’re dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations!
We’ve seen how excited you are, and we are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts. We are equally excited and can’t wait to share more about Kingdom Hearts IV when the time is right. Until then, we appreciate your patience.”
To the delight of many, several new screenshots from the in-development game have been revealed, two appearing to catch Sora in mid-battle.
The animation looks a little stiff in the still image, but given the game is not complete, that’s to be expected.
What is clear from these screenshots is that part of the game is definitely taking place in the hyper-realistic world that was teased in the initial reveal for the game. It still feels a little weird to see a hyper-realistic Sora, but I’m more than willing to see how it comes together.
There is currently no release date or platform information for Kingdom Hearts IV.
What do you think of these new screenshots?
