Stardew Valley New 1.7 Update Confirmed

Turning on post notifications for Stardew Valley‘s solo developer never fails to pay off. Eric Barone, known online as “Concerned Ape,” graced our timelines with a short and sweet confirmation that his labor of love will get another update.

There is not a confirmed release date for the 1.7 update, nor did Barone give us a peek at the content. But that’s okay. The developer has never failed to deliver on his promises for Stardew Valley since it launched in 2016.

The news about the update comes after a new screenshot for his sophomore game The Haunted Chocolatier. He has said previously that he hadn’t closed the book on Stardew Valley, but noted that he was focusing heavily on his new game.

The previous update released in March 2024. The 1.6 update that included a variety of new events and festivals, skill masteries, the bookseller, the prize machine, and a number of new items. The 1.5 update, which added the game’s end-game content like Ginger Island and Qi challenges, released on PC in December 2020.

Barone shared the news in a handwritten (digital, but handwritten) note, stating that he first revealed the news during the Stardew Valley concert kicking off the second tour on Friday, August 29.

“Okay, I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag, so I will confirm for everyone: There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening,” he wrote.

Could it coincide with the 10 year anniversary of Stardew Valley, which will be on February 26, 2026? Should we make it a national holiday? Either way, post notifications for Barone will stay on for this day-one fan and we’ll keep you updated.
