Today, Dotemu, the publisher of the fast-approaching Marvel Cosmic Invasion, has given us yet another look at this fast and furious punchfest that follows their and developer Tribute Games’ previous major beat ’em up classic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. This time, instead of a trailer, we’re treated to an extended mini-doc that goes into all the work behind the scenes that goes into creating an instant classic. There’s no new surprises here, unfortunately – no bonus character reveals or roadmaps to the future, but what’s here is certainly worth the 8 minutes of your time. The developers at Tribute clearly have put a lot of effort and thought into their game as both a great beat ’em up and as a great entry into the Marvel canon of video games. Plus, it’s funny to see everybody wearing their Marvel t-shirts in the office as if they were dedicated to keeping the branding strong the entire time they were coding away in the dev dungeon.
That’s not to throw shade, though – the way these guys talk about Marvel characters and lore as it applies to their game prove that if they weren’t already fans, they absolutely did their homework. I mean, they put Phyla-Vell in the game, and she hasn’t been around in at least 15 years!
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is scheduled to release December 1, 2025 on Nintendo Switch 1&2, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
