Metal Gear Solid Delta Reaches 2 Million Sales

It looks like Metal Gear Solid is back at it again, and maybe here to stay with these numbers.

Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta : Snake Eater has officially passed the 2 million units sold mark today. The sales numbers tally global sales total, but it’s not bad by any means.

This is a great celebration as Konami is continuing the trend with METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2. The collection was announced earlier this year during a PlayStation State of Play and it will finally include MGS4 on a new console. Currently MGS4 is only really playable on a PS3, as even emulators on PC struggle with perforamance due to the cell architecture it was designed for.

Delta on the other hand was a remastered version of MGS3. You can still play the original game in the Master Collection Vol 1, but Delta brings the game into a new generation with visuals and gameplay upgrades. It still showcases the slower story driven experience of MGS, with linear style gameplay in open environments. It stays faithful to the original game with very minor changes, and is a great jumping in point for anyone new to the franchise.

With 2 million units sold we can assume Konami is once again looking at the franchise to print them a few bucks. Another remaster is rumored to be in the works after Volume 2 releases, and perhaps another iteration in the series will see the day shortly after?
