Sony Working With JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot And Left 4 Dead’s Mike Booth

Sony today announced a new partnership with the Bad Robot Gaming division, the same studio founded by JJ Abrams.

Bad Robot Games is growing it seems and their gaming division just got a big boost from two big names. Sony announced a partnership for a new game with the studio, and leading the game is Mike Booth, the director of Left 4 Dead.

As you can guess, the game will be another Left 4 Dead inspired titled consisting of 4 player co-op. The are not further details on the otherwise unannounced title beyond being a shooter of similar style. The game is currently only being developed for PS5 and PC due to the publishing deal.

Bad Robot productions elsewhere include movies like Cloverfield, which would make for a fantastic game if I had any say in the matter.

“Partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment allows us to bring our new IP to life, with an expansive vision for this new universe,” said Anna Sweet, CEO of Bad Robot Games. “With the support of PlayStation, we hope to deliver a bold, innovative experience that is truly special for players. I could not be more excited that Mike Booth is at the creative helm, crafting a cooperative adventure that will lead to unforgettable moments with friends.”

It will be interesting to see where this partnership goes after this release, and what other IP is usable by the studio. It will also be interesting to see if yet another L4D style shooter can pick up any momentum.
