The inimitable Adam Scott has already shown us he can handle comedy in spades, and has also given us a great turn in Severance proving more dramatic chops as well. Now, he’s set to take on a leading role in a horror movie with the upcoming HOKUM, from the director of Oddity, Damian McCarthy. You can check out the trailer here:
The trailer surely knows how to set an atmosphere, and I can’t say as though I understand the details of the entire plot from the trailer alone. Whether or not this will truly land is yet to be seen, but if that jump-scare at the end is any indication, horror fans are in for a frighteningly good time.
HOKUM releases in theaters May 1, 2026. McCarthy is writing as well as directing.
