Batman Brave and the Bold taps Christina Hodson to Write

James Gunn’s DCU has a bit of a Batman problem on its hands. Gunn himself has said that he’s wary of oversaturating the market with Batman products, but at the same time, there are not one, but two completely different Batman-related movies on the horizon: Matt Reeves’ sequel to The Batman (which is thus far meant to stand outside of the DCU expanded universe) and the mainline DCU film, The Brave and the Bold, set to feature Batman and his newest Robin, Damian Wayne. In service of giving Reeves’ movie room to breathe, and also to make sure the film is of the highest quality, however, progress on Brave and the Bold has been much less forthcoming.

While official sources are mum, Dave Sneider of The Insneider received information that the latter film has taken on a new writer: Christina Hodson.

While Dave Muschietti (The Flash, Welcome to Derry) is still onboard to direct, the popularity of his It spinoff series leaves his fate with this project ultimately still up in the air. Hodson’s writing talent is certainly a point worth staying on for, however, as she has not only worked with Muschietti before on The Flash, but also penned the scripts for a couple of movies that were actually good, too, like Bumblebee and the Birds of Prey film.

With this news, things are certainly looking up for The Brave and the Bold, but don’t hold out for release dates or trailers any time soon. There is currently no hard info on when this film will release, but its hard to believe that, with the success of Superman, Gunn is going to let another flagship DC hero remain unseen for long.
