Universal Pictures has released a powerful new trailer for The Odyssey, one of the classic Epics of Greek literature, helmed by one of the greats of modern spectacle cinema, Christopher Nolan. This time around, we get a more fully-involved tease that gives us a great overview of the story at large:
Once again, Nolan continues to be a master of visual splendor, and even though Tom Holland always has this way of sticking out as Tom Holland rather than embodying a character, Robert Pattinson’s slimy broodiness already threatens to steal the show when he’s on screen. Between this and Epic: The Musical getting picked up for an animated feature film, it seems like a pretty good time to be a fan of the classics, or at least its big days out there for all you Odysseus superfans, who I’m sure exist.
The Odyssey opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026. It is written and directed by Christopher Nolan, and stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o, with Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
