DC Studios has revealed the first look at Supergirl, offering a hint at the story, plenty of “super” action, and more.
As promised, this morning brings DC fans their first look at the upcoming Supergirl movie. While we got a taste of her character in Gunn’s Superman earlier this year, it’s time to see what she does on her own:
I’m very much enjoying this trailer. One, I like this take on Kara Zor-El; making her more than just “Superman but a woman.” Having witnessed Krypton’s destruction more directly, while Clark has no memory of it, it makes sense she’s dealing with that trauma a bit differently. Secondly, I’m excited that the DCU isn’t keeping everything on Earth right away. Going bigger and galactic with this story helps set it apart while giving the overall universe they’re crafting a sense of depth. It’s also neat we get our first look at Jason Momoa’s Lobo (though it’s mostly shadowed).
That and I just love Millie Alcock.
When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
Supergirl is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
