First Trailer for ‘Shelby Oaks’ is a Whole Bunch of NOPE

The first trailer for NEON’s upcoming horror film, Shelby Oaks, has arrived to set to the tone for this horror mystery. Spoiler, it looks scary as hell.

After dropping a handful of creepy posters, NEON has revealed the first trailer for Shelby Oaks. The upcoming horror flick marks the directorial debut of Chris Stuckmann a YouTuber and film critic, following one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns for a horror film. Once NEON picked it up, they doubled the budget to allow for some more reshoots and today brings a first look at what they’ve done with it:

By and large, this looks like a whole bunch of ‘nope’ from me….And I mean that in a good way. I’m very much digging the Blair Witch vibes it’s giving off, and I’m fascinated by the backstory around it.

As someone who enjoys watching paranormal shows (both on network TV and YouTube), I remember when the “Paranormal Paranoids” videos started cropping up in 2021. They had a lot of people fooled (again, like with the marketing for the original Blair Witch), and even knowing it wasn’t “real” it managed to craft an engaging mystery that felt like something audiences could solve. As such, I’m eager to see how the film wraps up that story and brings everything together.

Of course, based on this trailer, I may have to bring a change of clothes before heading to the theater.

Shelby Oaks is set to hit theaters on October 3, 2025.
