Movies
Scarface: The Ultimate Collector’s Edition – Universal’s latest “Ultimate Collector’s Edition 4K” gives fans of the classic crime flick, Scarface, something to ooh and ahh over. The new release brings an updated 4K transfer (so hopefully even better than the previous release) along with a cool metal poster, certificate of authenticity, and plenty of bonus features. Even if you’re shopping for someone who already has the film, this swanky new release still makes for a neat gift.
Jaws: 50th Anniversary Edition (Jordan) – Every movie fan needs a good copy of Jaws, and they don’t get much better than the latest 4K transfer. Even better, this 50th anniversary edition that launched over the Summer, comes loaded with an all new “definitive” documentary. This offers something for fans and movie lovers who (most likely) already have a copy of this at home.
Tombstone 4K Steelbook – The classic cowboy film Tombstone finally came to 4K earlier this year thanks to a gorgeous remaster and that alone should be more than enough reason to put this on your shopping list this year. Physical is always the way to go, especially for these classics and the steelbook going along with it just adds a fun touch for fans/collectors.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World 4K – The Russell Crowe starring naval epic FINALLY made its way to 4K Ultra HD, and it’s so incredibly gorgeous. Movie fans all over will definitely love finding this under their tree this year, and we’ll have more people to share in our sorrows over never getting a follow-up.
Shin Godzilla 4K – If you loved Godzilla Minus One, you’ll definitely want to check out Shin Godzilla if you haven’t already. It’s not been the easiest of Godzilla movies to procure outside of Japan, and there are a lot of people, even long time fans who missed out on this one when it hit in 2016. While it is a different take on the iconic monster, it’s impressively handled and a blast to watch. Considering how rough physical media was for its original release, this new 4K is something lots of movie lovers will enjoy finding under the tree.
Hush 4K – After years and years of asking, Mike Flanagan’s impressive 2016 slasher film is FINALLY getting a physical release. The film was only available on Netflix, but then in 2021 is vanished completely and there was no real way to check it out. That should be reason enough to pick up this one, but the fact it’s also a really good movie helps as well. Lots of movie fans are gonna be happy with this one.

A History of Violence Criterion Collection 4K – The Criterion Collection releases are always a treat, and something movie-lovers are sure to swoon over. With David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence joining the lineup, there’s even more to love. On top of the excellent quality of transfer, it’s just a really neat looking cover that’ll be nice on the physical media shelves.
Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Trilogy 4K – There’s no shortage of Back to the Future collections out there, as befitting one of the greatest film trilogies around. This new 4K set, launched this Fall to help celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary, however, is definitely the one to get. Whether you’re shopping for a general movie fan, or a diehard who needs to upgrade from their blu-ray set, this is a great boxset to find under the tree.

Television
Attack on Titan – Final Season Complete Steelbook (Becky) – For those who haven’t yet acquired the final season of Attack on Titan, it’ll soon be possible to own the final season in a single collection. This is coming out just in time for the holidays and features the entire final season in a gorgeous steelbook.
Doctor Who: The Official Coloring Book – Need something for the Whovian in your life who seems to have everything? This might help do the trick. Random House Worlds has launched a new, official, coloring book that spans the many lives of the iconic Doctor. I’ve always loved the idea of this “adult” coloring books and letting older people still enjoy the fun of coloring their favorite things.
Fallout: The Complete First Season (Ryan) – The Fallout Television adaptation was widely regarded by both gamers and TV fans alike for its compelling characters, striking setting and willingness to adhere to the storied history of the games, using them as a backdrop to tell new, and unique stories. Video game based adaptations have come around a lot since the days of the Mario Bros. Movie, and Fallout is one of the best we’ve seen yet.

Dune: Prophecy Complete Season One (Jordan) – It’s DUNE! As a TV show! What more could you want? I mean, as a Dune fan myself, the physical release of HBO’s Dune series is a no-brainer and I suspect it would be for just about any other Dune fan you might be shopping for. Even if they’ve only seen the films, the show is accessible for all and opens up a lot of other storytelling possibilities. Plus, it’s only about $25.
Tom and Jerry: The Complete Cinemascope Collection – When it comes to old cartoons, getting yourself a physical copy is a necessity these days. As we’ve seen (especially with HBO Max), studios are all too quick to take these classics off their services and make it incredibly difficult to enjoy them. Thankfully, there are some great collections out there to preserve them and this Tom & Jerry one is an easy suggestion to make.
2025 Holiday Gift Guide: Perfect Presents for the Gamer in Your Life
Knight Rider The Complete Series in 4K (Katy) – Earlier this year, we got the Knight Rider The Complete Series in 4K – an absolutely amazing gift for the collector or fan of 80s claassics in your life. The 4K complete series includes all four seasons of the show and bonus features, including behind-the-scenes interviews, commentary with David Hasselhoff, the Knight Rider 2000 TV movie, and a one-hour documentary with cast and crew interviews called Knight Rider: Behind the Wheel.
Ted Lasso The Complete Series (Ryan) – Apple TV is home to a host of great shows, and Ted Lasso may well be the greatest of them all. There’s an infectious charm to the series that can bring joy to anyone, and even if you’re not trying to, you’ll end up hooked. This is one of those shows you can really surprise someone with, since many likely have yet to actually watch it due to not having Apple TV.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Jordan) – You may be noticing a theme with some of these picks and reasonings…that’s because streaming services are just so fickle anymore. There are already a number of Netflix shows already pulled from the service with no (legal) way to watch them. Scott Pilgrim as a franchise in general has already been a victim of this with its first video game being unavailable for so many years. That makes this release of Netflix’s animated series even more important, and something fans will love.
Lupin the 3rd – The Castle of Cagliostro – Blu-ray – Collector’s Edition SteelBook (Katy) – Crunchy Roll is exclusively selling the Lupin the 3rd – The Castle of Cagliostro – Blu-ray and Collector’s Edition SteelBook. The 1991 film, which was co-written and directed by the famous Hayao Miyazaki, makes the perfect gift for the anime lover in your life.

Collectibles/Misc.
LEGO One Piece “Going Merry” Pirate Ship (Becky) – Whether you know someone who loves One Piece because of the anime or because of the Netflix series, the LEGO set for the Straw Hats ship “Going Merry” is a great gift idea. It’s a LEGO piece that’s big enough to look impressive once it’s done, but small enough that it can be displayed without taking up too much space. And at $140 it’s not a bad price for a LEGO set.
Soundtracks
Frankenstein – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Deluxe Edition
Doug Chiang: The Cinematic Legacy & The Star Wars Legacy (Jordan) – If you (or someone you’re shopping for) love movies, like REALLY love movies, to the point you enjoy learning all about the process of making them and how things come to life…this new book set from Abrams Books is a must have. This absolute TOME of books takes a look at Doug Chiang’s iconic work across both Star Wars and other films while offering insight into his process, designs, and how his art influenced the way these films were put together. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s easily one of the best, most comprehensive movie/art books around.
Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins Boxed Set (Becky) – Know someone who is excited about the upcoming Mighty Nein animated series and wants to learn more about the characters? I’ve got the perfect gift idea for you: Dark Horse is releasing the entire set of Mighty Nein Origins comics in a box set. While it won’t be a perfect match for the animated series, readers will get a sense of what the members of the Mighty Nein were doing before they met.

Monopoly: Wicked Edition (Becky) – There were so many “Wicked” themed options I wanted to go with, but you can’t really go wrong with Monopoly. This is a Wicked-themed edition of Monopoly where the different properties are altered to have the names of places in the world of Wicked. It’s really cute and board games always make a great gift for the holidays.
JMGO Portable Projectors (Jordan) – While this is definitely on the higher end of gift-giving, you can’t go wrong with a portable projector if you’re shopping for a movie lover this year (or maybe just a big gift for the family). It’s a great way to get the big picture experience, while having the versatility of taking it outside or to other friends/family members.
Personally speaking, there’s no company doing it better than JMGO. I’ve had the chance over the years to review a number of different projectors (both from them and other companies), and the ones I continue to use in my day to day life are from JMGO. The JMGO N1S Ultra is a STELLAR 4K option and is a primary unit in my household. I even used one of their smaller projectors to show off spooky movies on my garage during Halloween this year. Hard to go wrong with these guys.

The Apothecary Diaries – Flower Garden Sweater (Katy) – The slow burn lover in your life is probably a fan of Apothecary Diaries (and if not, recommend that as a gift itself!). Crunchy Roll’s shop includes a very pretty and very pink Flower Garden Sweater that is perfect for your upcoming Christmas parties. It sizes up to 2XL.
Moleskin Film & TV Journal (Jordan) – Hear me out: Letterboxd…but on paper. That’s pretty much the idea behind this little journal and I think it’s pretty damn neat. Sometimes having an analog record of things makes the experience of filling it out more fun. Instead of simply looking at a digital readout of your year, you can have your entire film experience for the year in your hands to flip back and enjoy. Throw in some pictures, notes on how you felt while watching, and it can be a nifty time capsule of what you watched.
