Gladiator Sequel Gets 2024 Release Date

Paramount has doled out a release date for Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Gladiator, so get your calendars ready!

Things are definitely getting on track for the long-gestating sequel to Gladiator, Gladiator Harder (no, that’s not the official title, but I think it sounds nice while they’re still figuring it out). Ridley Scott is set to return to the epic story, which currently has Oscar nominee Paul Mescal in talks to star, next year.

Things are so on track, that Paramount has gone ahead and set a release date for the film: November 22, 2024. This will mean the sequel is landing 24 years after the original, which debuted in 2000. Wild.

Details on the overall story are still scarce, but the film will follow the Emperor’s Nephew, Lucius, the son of Lucilla. With a release date on the calendar I imagine we’re not too far off from filming going down.
