Hiccup and Astrid Cast for Live-Action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’

The lead roles of Hiccup and Astrid have been cast for the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon.

In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, it’s been revealed that the main roles of Hiccup and Astrid have been cast in the live-action take on How to Train Your Dragon.

The roles will be filled by Mason Thames (The Black Phone) as Hiccup and Nico Parker (The Last of Us) as Astrid. The film is currently scheduled to be released on March 14, 2025 with shooting to commence this summer.

Along with The Black Phone, Thames previously appeared in the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind. Parker, meanwhile, previously appeared in the live-action Dumbo and Reminiscence before appearing on The Last of Us.
