‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ Joining the Criterion Collection

It’s a good day for fans of physical media as K-Pop Demon Hunters and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein are both confirmed to be joining the Criterion Collection.

It was exclusively reported by Variety earlier today that both K-Pop Demon Hunters and del Toro’s Frankenstein, two of the biggest films streaming online in 2025, have been acquired by the Criterion Collection for a physical release.

It’s great news for physical media collectors, as many Netflix films don’t get to make the jump to a physical release, no matter how popular they may become. Now, with a release on the Criterion Collection, a prestigious boutique brand that features films deemed significant or important in some way, viewers will be able to enjoy both of these films for years to come.

It has not yet been announced when the films will be available to purchase from the Criterion Collection. Given that the known pre-orders are listed through May 2026, it may be a little while yet before these two films are up for pre-order.

Will you be picking up copies of these films once they become available?
