IGN gifted us a new trailer during IGN Next Fest for the highly-anticipated movie adaptation of Mortal Kombat II, which will hit theaters and IMAX on May 8 in North America.
“This time, the fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders,” the trailer description reads.
It’s been almost five years since the April 23, 2021, release of the first film in the rebooted adaptation of the hit video game series.
Karl Urban stars as Johnny Cage, with Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion. The film also stars Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, and more.
We also got a look at the movie’s official poster as well.
