That’s a wrap on the 98th Academy Awards!
The 2026 Oscars had a diverse slate of nominations, with Sinners breaking the record for most nominations for a movie in the history of the awards with 16. The awards also added a category for Best Casting, the first new category in 25 years.
Sinners and One Battle After Another, who had 13 nominations overall, duked it out for top recognition, with OBAA taking Best Picture while Michael B. Jordan took home Best Actor for his dual roles as twin brothers Smoke and Stack in Sinners.
KPop Demon Hunters cemented its pop culture chokehold with wins for Best Original Song for “Golden” and Best Animated Feature.
