Ryan Gosling Can Save the World in Project Hail Mary – Watch the Latest Trailer

After the breakaway success of The Martian, Hollywood has been scrambling to get another one of writer Andy Weir’s novels adapted into a feature film. This time, director duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are getting involved to take the helm on Project Hail Mary, the story of an astronaut who wakes up on a spacecraft with no memory of who he is or what he’s in outer space for. The latest trailer just dropped, which you can check out right here:

The trailer does a lot more to lay out the groundwork for the overall plot, so skim this one if you’d rather go in blind. One key takeaway that doesn’t require spoilers to mention, though, is how much of a natural born star Ryan Gosling is. From heartthrob to hilarity, it doesn’t seem like there’s a role out there he can’t tackle, and seeing him act (more or less) by himself for most of the movie’s runtime will make for a fresh new challenge.

Project Hail Mary is set for release in theaters on March 20, 2026. It stars Ryan Gosling and is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, featuring a screenplay by Drew Goddard, who adapted The Martian as well.
