They’ve been drip-feeding us teases for months now, but today, Legendary has kicked over the chum bucket and let the feeding frenzy begin. The Street Fighter adaptation they have been working on with Capcom now not only has release date, but also a final entire cast list, and what a cast it is.
Pretty well all of the major rumors and previously released names have been confirmed, including the WWE’s Cody Rhodes playing the part of Guile, but a few new interesting choices stand out, like rapper 50 Cent being tapped for the part of boxer Balrog, or the choice to include Alexander Volkanovski’s character Joe, one of the most generic and forgotten characters from the generic and forgotten chapter of the Street Fighter franchise – the original game.

The official blurb doesn’t exactly explain the choice either, as it portends a storyline that sounds to be more closely adapting the much more iconic Street Fighter 2: “Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”
Regardless, with a cast this colorful and a range of characters from the original and forgotten to the more recent updates to the original canon, it’s sure to be an eye-opening adaptation of the source material, at any rate.
Street Fighter is scheduled to release in theaters on October 16, 2026. Kitao Sakurai is set to direct, and the script was written by Dalan Musson. Full cast list is as follows:
