After much anticipation, the official trailer for Mortal Kombat II is here and it looks to be everything fans have wanted.
Four long years after Mortal Kombat (2021) took us all by surprise, we finally have our first official look at the upcoming sequel Mortal Kombat II, scheduled to hit theaters on October 24, 2025. This film sees Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) thrust from the world of action movies into the deadly tournament that is Mortal Kombat, whether he likes it or not.

After the first film came out, all I ever wanted in the sequel was a story that gave us the same over-the-top insanity. Thus far, it looks like Mortal Kombat II is giving us exactly that. This trailer is full of epic fight scenes, awesome locations, and most importantly it looks like Karl Urban fits right in as Johnny Cage.
It was especially exciting to see the different fighters teased throughout the trailer. I was particularly disappointed that the first film didn’t include Kitana, so seeing her get to show off in the trailer made me very happy.
There’s still a long way to go until October but for now I’m very excited to see what Mortal Kombat II is bringing to the table. What do you think of the trailer?
