Diablo IV Expansion Gets Tie-In Novel From Random House Worlds

In a world culled by Malthael’s Reaping, the Horadric order—humanity’s only hope—struggles to gain a foothold. Within the dimming lands of Sanctuary, evils rise from all corners, and though the Horadrim are used to facing down the darkest spawn of the Burning Hells, they are far less prepared for the depravity arising within their fellow men. But as Lorath, Donan, and Tyrael seek justice and a path forward, the Horadrim’s numbers have dwindled, leaving humanity vulnerable.

Hoping to strengthen the order, Tyrael and the two mages set sail to Skovos, where Sho-Ren and four other Horadrim were sent years ago to establish diplomatic relations with the Askari . . . and were never heard from again. Though the risk is great, the chance of reclaiming kin—as well as the Horadric vault hidden deep within the heart of the isles—remains too great an opportunity to pass up.

At first glance, Skovos appears to have escaped the devastation so many others faced in the wake of the Reaping. But as the Horadrim attempt to ally with the Askari and their rulers, it becomes clear that all is not right on their shores. To gain the trust of the Amazon warriors, Lorath seeks the aid of their captain, Adreona. The Askari leader does not trust the mysterious mainlander, though—not while her soldiers are under constant threat of the Drowned and can ill afford distractions.

To save both their peoples, Lorath and Adreona must learn to battle together against not only the perils before them . . . but also those lurking just beneath the surface.

Diablo IV: The Lost Horadrum by Matthew Kirby hits bookstores on April 21, 2026.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II Gets New Release Window

Kasedo Games & Bulwark Studios announced that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed turn-based tactical strategy game, will launch in Spring 2026 for Windows PC, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The new release window will allow the team to further refine the experience in response to player requests following the Steam Next Fest demo, where it ranked among the event’s most played titles.

Building on this momentum, Bulwark Studios have listened closely to player feedback and have begun working on those widely requested features. The full game will now include an audio option to play with either ‘lingua-technis’, the binaric machine code language of the Adeptus Mechanicus that contributed heavily to the first game’s distinct atmosphere, or with the traditional human voiceover as heard in the demo. Movement systems are also being enhanced, with an optional setting to allow the Move action to auto-select when cycling between units, creating a smoother and more efficient tactical flow.

The team is equally committed to addressing performance concerns raised during the demo period. These optimisations, together with the continued refinement of new systems and campaign content, are central to delivering a sequel that meets the expectations set by both the community and the studio’s own ambitions.

Retro Games Reveals New Retro Joystick Controller

Retro Games Ltd. (RGL), in partnership with PLAION REPLAI, is proud to announce THEQUICKSHOT II, a modern reimagining of one of the most iconic joysticks of the home-computer era. Reviving the unmistakable silhouette, hands-on feel, and arcade-inspired attitude of the original Quickshot II, this new USB-enabled controller brings authentic retro play into the modern age while honoring one of the most beloved pieces of gaming hardware ever made.

For millions of players in the 1980s and early 1990s, the Quickshot II wasn’t just a controller, it was the controller. Its flight-stick profile and signature red trigger made it a ubiquitous presence across the most important gaming platforms of the time. Decades later, it remains instantly recognizable and deeply nostalgic for retro fans worldwide.

THEQUICKSHOT II stays true to the heritage-defining feel of the original while enhancing it with modern reliability, plug-and-play USB connectivity, and refined ergonomics. Key features include:

Eight action and feature buttons, including two fire buttons and six function buttons for full game-pad functionality
Floating ball-joint design enabling smooth, precise eight-way circular movement
All-microswitch (an RGL innovation) construction for every directional input and fire button, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness
Auto-fire switch for rapid-fire high-score attempts; this feature was key to the success of the original Quickshot II
Ergonomic grip designed for extended comfort during long gaming sessions
Stabilizing suction cups for confident single-handed control on flat surfaces
Compatible with all Retro Games Ltd.’s machines, and with most USB-based computer systems and retro gaming platforms
Generous 1.8m USB-A cable, ideal for contemporary gaming setups

The Quickshot II became a cultural touchstone because it wasn’t tied to just one machine. It helped define the gaming experience across nearly every major home computer platform of its time. On the C64, the Quickshot II was everywhere. Its responsive trigger and arcade-like feel made it the controller of choice for classics such as Summer Games, International Karate, Impossible Mission, Uridium, and thousands more. For many players, the Quickshot II was the Commodore experience.

In addition, ZX Spectrum owners gravitated toward the Quickshot II as a premium, more durable alternative to the basic sticks of the day. For beloved titles like Jet Set Willy and Saboteur, it offered the precision that Spectrum gaming demanded.

The joystick’s legacy is further enhanced by its importance to yet more systems from the 1980s and 1990s. These include the Amstrad CPC, the Atari ST, and the Commodore Amiga. As Amiga games grew more ambitious with richer action, sharper controls, and greater precision, the Quickshot II’s build quality and ergonomics made it a mainstay on Amiga desks everywhere, further cementing its iconic status. Across all these platforms, the Quickshot II wasn’t just popular, it was defining. It shaped how an entire generation learned to play.

The Quickshot II launches next month.
