Paramount Pictures has just released the teaser trailer for the latest foray back into the world of Bikini Bottom in the new movie, The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants. This zany new quest sees SpongeBob and his buddies delving deeper out into the world than they ever have before, but you can see exactly what I mean by checking out the trailer on YouTube or clicking through right here instead:
According the synopsis, SpongeBob is eager to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following the mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate, the Flying Dutchman, leading him on a comedy-adventure that spans the oceans to the depths of the deepest seas where no Sponge has gone before.
It’s always nice to see a quick-and-dirty little teaser that gives us the barest taste of the plot and a few quick jokes to showcase what we’re in for. While many will surely mourn the series escaping from its two-dimensional roots to play in the computer graphics sandbox, this is still the best this new style has looked since the Netflix originals of last year.
