Amazon in Final Talks for ‘Warhammer 40K’ Project with Henry Cavill Attached

He will no longer be your monster-slaying Witcher. He won’t even the Man of Steel. However, he may be Space Marine he’s always wanted to be.

Amazon is in final talks for the rights to produce a “Warhammer 40k” series with Henry Cavill attached as star and executive producer. This comes after months of negotiating with Warhammer 40k producer Games Workshop, and outlasting other streaming rivals.

Warhammer 40k has a rich and long history. Dating all the way back to 1980, it’s been a tabletop game, book series, video game series, and now it looks like it’ll be an Amazon Original Series. The story takes place 40,000 years in the future where mankind is an unending war with all manner of enemies. Be it aliens, gods, demons, and magical beings, there are even androids in the fight for supremacy.

As of now, there are no showrunners or writers attached to the project. So, even when the rights are secured it’ll be a long time until we see a Warhammer 40k series.

That said, if Henry Cavill is indeed attached to the project as a star and executive producer, that will be a huge get for the streaming giant. Not only is Cavill a household name from his time as Superman and the Witcher, he’s also a massive Warhammer 40k fan. Given his history of wanting to stay true to the source material, which is why he left the Witcher series, fans can feel comfortable knowing that Warhammer 40k will be in good hands.

As soon as news is revealed, we’ll have it here.
