First Official Look at The Penguin Series Revealed

Warner Bros. Discovery offered fans a glimpse at the upcoming The Penguin series, set after the events of The Batman, via a new image and teaser trailer.

During their Max presentation this morning to reveal details on the new streaming service, WBD gave people a taste of what to look forward to on the service with some new announcements, as well as a quick look at The Penguin! Despite filming having just started not too long ago, a quick teaser (that features behind the scenes footage) was shown, giving us our first look at Gotham following the events of The Batman.

Max has released first look footage and an image of the series, officially titled THE PENGUIN from Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. Starring Colin Farrell as The Penguin, the eight-episode DC Studios drama series continues The Batman epic crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster “The Batman,” and centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

The previously announced cast includes Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen recurring.

The series is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, who writes and serves as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro. Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, THE PENGUIN is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th & Idaho are under an overall deal. 6th & Idaho’s Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer and Rafi Crohn is co-executive producer.

No release date, or window, has been revealed just yet, but I suspect we’ll see The Penguin at some point in 2024.
