Howard Shore in Talks to Score Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ Series

As amazing as Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series already sounds, it may be about to get that much better if certain reports about Howard Shore turn out to be true.

While we’re still just under a year away from the premiere of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series, some potential news has broken that should make fans even more excited. According to Deadline, composer Howard Shore is in talks to score Amazon’s upcoming series.

That’s right. Howard Shore, the man who brought Middle-earth to life through some astoundingly beautiful music, is potentially going to score this series as well. If this turns out to be true, this would give a huge boost to a series that has already raised my personal hype meter as high as it can go. All agree that Shore’s music is one of the best things about the Lord of the Rings trilogy and it only makes sense for Shore to return to Middle-earth to bring the Second Age to life as well.

It should be emphasized that it has not been confirmed that Howard Shore is coming back to score this series, but hopefully we’ll have confirmation of this soon. I, for one, would love to see Howard Shore create more music for Middle-earth.

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series is premiering on September 2, 2022 on Prime Video.
