It is a new year, and with it comes a new slate of Marvel titles to tide us over until the inevitable comes this December with Doomsday. The first taste of things to come came to us yesterday, right at the start of the year, as Marvel Studios gave us the first official full trailer for their newest series, Wonder Man. Check it out below:
The trailer follows what appear to be our central characters: first, aspiring actor Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), desperate for the role of a lifetime; second, longtime MCU standby Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), formerly known as Iron Man 3’s “The Mandarin,” seemingly looking to turn over a new leaf and become Simon’s guide to the land of Hollywood, and finally, Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić), an Oscar-winning director who’s decided to take on his most ambitious project yet: A remake of a seminal super-hero film classic known as “Wonder Man”.
With this trailer, Marvel has all but confirmed that they are interested in tackling the well-worn concept of “Super Hero Fatigue” head-on, taking the idea out of the realms of social media and directly into the conversation of the text itself. With Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton and Hawkeye‘s Andrew Guest on board as a showrunners, we might end up with something special on our hands here at the turn of 2026!
Wonder Man will be streaming exclusively on the Disney+ platform on January 27, 2026, at 6pm PT. All eight episodes will be available immediately.
